UCR Filings
Annual Unified Carrier Registration filings are required for all carriers and brokers involved in interstate commerce, registration is dependent on the number of trucks in your fleet that are involved in interstate operations. The UCR Board reviews and determines the fee each year, the registration period opens in the fall, payment/ completed filing is due by the end of the year. Some states will not process your IRP renewal unless your fleet UCR filings are up to date.
Fees from the UCR help fund highway safety programs and initiatives, funds are distributed to the participating states used to help enforce laws, maintain roads, and make driving in these states safer.
New companies that open for business need to pay the UCR before their first interstate trip.
Carriers caught crossing state or federal borders without a UCR certificate may be subject to fines, fees, and could have their vehicle impounded.
You won’t find a more cost effective and easier option than filing with Johnson DOT Services.
