Fuel Tax Filing (IFTA)

Have Johnson DOT Services complete your International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), NY HUT, NM WDT, KYU, OR monthly, or CT monthly mileage reports.

Qualified motor vehicles must report IFTA mileage quarterly. A qualified motor vehicle is defined by IFTA is a motor vehicle used, designed, or maintained for transportation of persons or property and;

  • Has two axles and a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 pounds or

  • Has two axles and a registered weight over 26,000 pounds or

  • Has three or more axles regardless of weight or

  • Has a combined weight exceeding 26,000 pounds

IFTA Filing Due Dates

Q1. January 1st- March 31st period is due by April 30th

Q2. April 1st- June 30th period is due by July 31st

Q3. July 1st- September 30th is due by October 31st

Q4. October 1st- December 31st is due by January 31st

IFTA jurisdictions (states) audit at least 3% of their accounts per year. To avoid fines and interest accurate records must be maintained.

We bill per hour to complete these filings. Carriers must collect/maintain accurate record of their mileage and fuel receipts.
